Elephant Beach

Elephant Beach is another must-visit destination on Havelock Island in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. During my visit, I also had the opportunity to try my hand at sea walking, which was an incredible and unique experience. It allowed me to walk along the ocean floor while wearing a helmet that supplied me with air, giving me a chance to explore the underwater world up close and personal.

How to reach Elephant Beach:

The beach can be reached by boat or ferry from nearby ports like Port Blair or Havelock Island, Neil Island. It is recommended to check the weather and ferry schedules before planning a visit.

Elephant Beach is a destination that I would highly recommend to anyone traveling to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Its natural beauty, range of activities, and peaceful atmosphere make it a destination that has something for everyone. Whether you’re looking to explore the underwater world, hike through the lush greenery, or simply relax on the beach, Elephant Beach is a must-visit destination that won’t disappoint.

Here are some of the things you can expect to see and do at Elephant Beach:

  • Snorkeling: Elephant Beach is a great place to snorkel and explore the underwater world. You can rent snorkeling gear and see colorful fishes, coral reefs, and other marine creatures. You can also take a glass-bottom boat ride to explore the coral reefs without getting wet.
  • Trekking: Elephant Beach is accessible only by a 20-minute trek through the jungle. The trek offers spectacular views of the lush green forests, and you may spot wildlife along the way.
  • Water Sports: The beach offers a range of water sports, including banana boat rides, parasailing, and jet skiing. You can also rent a kayak and explore the beach at your own pace.
  • Relax on the Beach: You can simply relax on the soft sandy beaches and enjoy the stunning views of the turquoise waters. The beach is peaceful and quiet, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and meditation.
  • Beach Camping: You can camp overnight at Elephant Beach and experience the serenity of the island at night. You can enjoy a campfire, barbecue, and stargazing while listening to the sound of the waves.

Best Time to Visit: The best time to visit Elephanta Beach is during the months of October to May when the weather is pleasant, and the sea is calm. It’s not advisable to visit during the monsoon season (June to September) as the sea can be rough.
