Witnessing the Lakshmi Narasimha Temple

The majestic Lakshmi Narasimha Temple is one of the main attractions in Hampi. Built in the Vijayanagara style, it is a testimony to the grandeur and glory of this ancient kingdom. The temple is made of stone and has a unique architecture with deep alcoves and ornate carvings.

This temple is dedicated to Lord Vishnu, and in particular to his incarnation, Lord Narasimha. Inside, there are sculptures of the Gods seated atop their thrones, and each of the four sides has different statues depicting the various avatars of Lord Vishnu.

The temple was built by Krishnadevaraya in 1528 AD and is one of the most important structures in Hampi. One of its distinguishing features is its large stone chariot that sits outside the entrance to the temple. This chariot was used as part of religious ceremonies that took place in front of it.

What makes this temple truly special are its beautiful sculptures, intricate carvings, and stunning designs that make it one of a kind and an absolute must-see for any visitor to Hampi. Visitors can also marvel at some of the other sculptures near to it, such as those depicting elephants walking alongside lions, tigers leaping over elephants and much more!
